THE OPPORTUNITY
Big Ideas is a fast growing startup based in Manila servicing clients based in the United States and helping them outsource their operations and other business processes to the Philippines.
We are looking for a data-driven problem solver to support the Business Analytics and Finance teams of our client as they strengthen their data and reporting capabilities to continue to support business growth.
This role will support projects that transform raw datasets into consumable tools that teams can use to drive meaningful impact across the organization. This person should have demonstrated experience with data analysis and an eye for process improvement. With a “roll up your sleeves” attitude, this person should be comfortable initiating and driving projects to completion, while maintaining flexibility to shift between day-to-day operations and mission-critical priorities.
This is a 3 month-long freelancing trial contract (full-time) that can be done remotely at home with a computer and a fast and reliable internet connection.

QUALIFICATIONS
- REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Accounting or related field
- 3–4 years of proven experience as a Data Analytics expert or manager.
- Experience developing, managing and maintaining recurring reports.
- Ability to work independently and deliver on deadlines and deliverables.
- Keen attention to detail while still understanding the big picture.
- Ability to put yourself in the user’s shoes to develop reports that are easy to understand and deliver on goals.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Collaborative working style within the team.
- Willing to work graveyard shifts and willing to have shift schedules changed
- Has own fast computer or laptop capable of running required applications, software and has a decent Internet connection (at least 100MBPS)
- Has a quiet and distraction free work environment at home.
- Willing to take a pre-employment test and willing to have a background check.
- PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
- Advanced Excel skills – dynamic formulas (e.g. XLOOKUP), pivot tables, filters, tables / queries
- Experience analyzing and preparing financial data / reports
- Experience working with large datasets
- Familiarity with Power Query and/or Power BI is a plus but not expected
JOB DESCRIPTION (SCOPE OF WORK)
- Work within the Business Analytics & Finance teams to develop and maintain company-wide reporting to monitor organizational KPIs.
- Extract, cleanse, process, and analyze raw datasets using Excel, Power Query, and Power BI.
- Prepare data analysis that is clear and easy for end users to understand.
- Manage recurring data refreshes (daily, weekly, monthly, ad-hoc) and monitor / troubleshoot reports to ensure data integrity.
- Coordinate with the team via email and Microsoft Teams to align on project requirements.
- Work an estimated 5-15 hours per week during US Eastern / Central business hours; remaining hours can be completed outside this timeframe (specific times to be agreed upon by the team and subject to change based on priorities and deadlines)
- Any other ad-hoc or miscellaneous tasks related to the above.
WORK HOURS
- Work from home. Full-time, freelance, contractual position.
- 8 hours shift guaranteed per work day (with an unpaid, 1-hour break) US hours.
- Schedule: Work an estimated 5-15 hours per week during US Eastern / Central business hours; remaining hours can be completed outside this timeframe (specific times to be agreed upon by the team and subject to change based on priorities and deadlines)
- USA Holidays off and unpaid during the trial contract.
- PH Holidays are normal working days during the trial contract.
- Any overtime needs to be pre-approved by the client.
COMPENSATION
- USD $9.00 to $12.00 per hour based on experience.
- The monthly “take home” pay may vary accordingly due to Forex rates.
- Note that we will only consider candidates who are amenable to the compensation budget above.
- Monthly pay out.
- Compensation will be paid by the hour in USD.
- Deposited to freelancer’s Payoneer account in USD.
ADDITIONAL NOTES
- Although you will be reporting directly to the designated manager from our client, you will also be reporting to and will be supervised by Big Ideas Social Media Inc, who is the consultant and service provider (Agency) of the US business.
- Big Ideas will be the one to provide your compensation and other HR and administrative needs locally.
- You will be classified as “Self-Employed” when it concerns legality and taxation.
- You will not be considered an employee of our Client or Big Ideas Philippines but instead, you will be a self-employed freelance professional.
- Big Ideas (the agency) will deduct a 5% Expanded Withholding Tax as per PH and BIR laws. (10% if you do not have a COR, Certificate of Registration as Self-Employed from the BIR)
- Contract is subject to an “evaluation period” and subject to contract renewal based on performance of the freelancer.
- Renewal or raise in compensation is subject to client discretion (and your performance) and is not guaranteed.
