THE OPPORTUNITY

Our client, a prominent real estate holding company with diverse business units operating within the United States, seeks a highly motivated and experienced Senior Corporate Accountant to join its dynamic finance team.

The ideal candidate must possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a proven track record of accuracy and efficiency. This role will be responsible for a wide range of accounting functions, including business unit reporting, accounts receivable management, vendor payments, revenue reconciliation, and assisting with annual financial deliverables. We are looking for someone with a strong accounting background and has experience with corporate accounting work for a similar company or industry and has experience in corporate accounting and brokerage.

This is a full time, senior, contractual freelancer position while working at home with an evaluation period of 3 months. It can be done completely from home with your computer and a fast Internet connection with the proper equipment and gear.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
  • At least 5++ or more years proven experience in a corporate accounting role.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Advanced proficiency and skill in QuickBooks (QB) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with AppFolio and Constellation software is a plus.
  • Can work with various accounting and real estate brokerage software and cloud applications.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can work with minimal supervision .
  • Has his/her own laptop or desktop computer, headphones, and a decent Internet connection capable of doing voice and video calls. (extra monitor for spreadsheets preferred).
  • Has a quiet and distraction-free workspace at home.
  • Willing to work US hours and semi-flexible schedules.

JOB DESCRIPTION (SCOPE OF WORK)

  • Business Unit Reporting:
    • Prepare and deliver timely monthly financial reports for various business units.
    • Analyze financial data and provide insightful commentary on key performance indicators.
    • Present financial reports to business unit leaders and address any inquiries.
  • Accounts Receivable Management:
      • Monitor and manage outstanding client receivables on a weekly/monthly basis.
      • Communicate with clients regarding overdue payments and resolve any billing discrepancies.
      • Generate and send client invoices.
      • Track and report on collection efforts.
  • Vendor Payments:
    • Process vendor payments in QuickBooks (QB) and through bank portals on a weekly basis and as needed.
    • Ensure timely and accurate payment of invoices.
    • Address any missing or incorrect payments
  • Revenue Reconciliation:
    • Ensure all client revenues are accurately posted from AppFolio and Constellation software.
    • Reconcile revenue data between different systems.
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Bank Reconciliations:
    • Track bank activity for all business units.
    • Reconcile bank accounts monthly.
    • Identify and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Brokerage Accounting:
    • Post and track revenues from Constellation brokerage software and import data to QuickBooks.
    • Reconcile the brokerage escrow account monthly.
    • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • RAMP Transactions:
    • Triage RAMP transactions and generate bi-monthly reports on open transactions.
    • Investigate and resolve any issues related to RAMP transactions.
  • Marketing Reimbursements:
    • Bill clients for marketing reimbursements.
    • Track and reconcile marketing reimbursement payments.
  • Annual Deliverables:
  • Assist the Director of Finance with annual financial deliverables, including:
    • 1099 reporting
    • Budget uploads
    • Tax return preparation

PROCESSES OWNED

  1. Bank reconciliations for business unit owner accounts
  2. Reconcile Brokerage escrow account
  3. Vendor payments
  4. Posting business unit revenues
  5. Processing and coding RAMP credit card transactions
  6. Track and follow-up on client receivables
  7. Ensuring Brokerage transactions in Constellation software map correctly to QB.

WORK HOURS

  • Work from home. full-time freelance, contractual position.
  • Guaranteed paid 8 hours shift per work day.
  • Schedule: 4:00AM to 1:00PM EST TIME USA, Mondays to Fridays.
  • Converted to PH, Manila time: 5:00PM to 2:00AM the next day.
  • US Holidays off and unpaid.
  • Any overtime needs to be pre-approved by the client.

COMPENSATION

  • USD $15.00 to $17.00 per hour based on experience.
  • Converted, the initial offer is Approximately from Php 135,000 to Php 154,000 monthly gross per month depending on experience.
  • Estimate gross pay is dependent on Forex rates.
  • The monthly “take home” pay in Pesos may vary accordingly due to Forex rates and tax deductions.
  • Note that we will only consider candidates who are amenable to the compensation budget above.
  • Monthly pay out. 
  • Compensation will be paid by the hour in USD.
  • Deposited to freelancer’s Payoneer account in USD.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

  • Although you will be reporting directly to the designated manager from our client, you will also be reporting to and will be supervised by Big Ideas Social Media Inc, who is the consultant and service provider (Agency) of the US business.
  • Big Ideas will be the one to provide your compensation and other HR and administrative needs locally.
  • You will be classified as “Self-Employed” when it concerns legality and taxation.
  • You will not be considered an employee of our Client or Big Ideas Philippines but instead, you will be a self-employed freelance professional.
  • Big Ideas (the agency) will deduct a 5% Expanded Withholding Tax as per PH and BIR laws. (10% if you do not have a COR, Certificate of Registration as Self-Employed from the BIR).
  • Contract is subject to an “evaluation period” and subject to contract renewal based on performance of the freelancer.
  • Renewal or raise in compensation is subject to client discretion (and your performance) and is not guaranteed.
