Senior Accountant Work from Home US Hours

We are looking to hire an experienced Senior Accountant for our client based in the USA. They are in the Food and Restaurant industry and expanding at a fast pace.

We are looking for a Senior Accountant who is looking to learn and grow with our client’s organization. This role will be responsible for accounting for their store revenue, expenses, and inventory and reconciling our balance sheet accounts as assigned. The ideal candidate should be a strong team player who is willing to help drive our client’s business forward as part of a highly collaborative team. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to work in a fast-paced and growing business will lead to success in the organization.

This is a contractual, part-time, freelance manager-level position with an evaluation period of three (3) months and can be done completely from home with a fast Internet connection and the proper equipment and gear.


  • College or University graduate of BS. Accountancy or Finance.
  • Has at least 4 years of proven experience as an accountant or accounting manager.
  • Experience in the Restaurant industry is highly desirable.
  • CPA a major plus
  • Available to work extended hours during month-end closing periods.
  • Must possess excellent oral and written English communication skills.
  • Advanced spreadsheet (Excel) skills.
  • Must have Strong Microsoft Office experience willing to be trained on organization software systems.
  • Has own laptop or desktop computer with specs to perform the job function (preferably Intel i5 or higher)
  • Must have a stable, fast, and reliable internet connection at home capable of doing voice calls (with clients, supplier, and teams). Preferably 25MBPS or more.
  • Willing to work graveyard shifts, US Pacific time zone, or on an assigned, variable schedule.
  • Willing to take a pre-employment assessment test (see below).


  • Strong solid understanding of GAAP (If candidate has US, California, experience)
  • Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, lookups, sum if’s, macro. 
  • Thorough, detail-oriented.

  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills


  • Perform month-end closing procedures. 
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts. 
  • P&L review and analysis. 
  • Accruals and prepaid.
  • Review POS transactions. 
  • Reconcile POS system reports and vendor settlement statements. 
  • Review transactions from food delivery platforms: Door Dash, Uber, Eats Olo, EZ Cater
  • Perform bank reconciliation. 
  • Prepare journal entries. 
  • Review payroll Analyze credit card settlements. 
  • Sales tax filing and Property tax filing. 
  • Maintain Fixed Asset Schedule. 
  • Set up new locations and GL accounts in the R365.
  • Assist in audit. 
  • Do miscellaneous tasks related to the above


  • Work from home. Full-time freelancer, contractual position
  • SEMI-FLEX TIME. Client wants an overlap of at least 2-4 hours a day preferably 2PM or 3PM Pacific US time
  • Guaranteed 8 hours paid shift per day
  • Daily Breaks: 1 hour
  • US Holidays are off and unpaid
  • PH Holidays are normal work days (no premium) during trial or evaluation period
  • Any overtime needs to be pre-approved by the client


  • USD $10.00 to $12.00 per hour based on experience
  • Converted to PHP, that is more or less Php 88,000 to Php 100,000 per month (depending on Forex rates)
  • Monthly pay out in USD
  • Deposited to freelancer’s Payoneer account.


  • Although you will be reporting directly to the designated manager from our client, you will also be reporting to and being supervised by Big Ideas Social Media Inc, who is the consultant and service provider of the US business.
  • Big Ideas will be the one to provide your compensation and other administrative needs locally.
  • You will be classified as “Self-Employed” when it concerns legality and taxation.
  • Big Ideas (the agency) will deduct a 5% Expanded Withholding Tax as per PH and BIR laws. (10% if you do not have a COR as a self-employed taxpayer).
  • Contract is subject to an “evaluation period” and subject to contract renewal based on performance of the freelancer.
  • Renewal or raise in compensation is subject to client discretion and is not guaranteed.
